My craft space in pictures

Before I begin, this is not a facetious post. In my head, my craft space is an enormous, brightly lit, beautiful room dedicated solely to my love of craft supplies. Reality, however, is that I am lucky enough to live with my sister and her husband in their new house, and my craft space is a corner of my bedroom.

I did entertain the idea of not sharing these pictures. However, I love to see where crafters create, and in the years that I have been following sewing and papercrafting blogs, I've seen a wide range of spaces. So why should I be embarrassed by my limited space?

So here are pictures of my bedroom, also known as my craft space. (These are taken with Instagram using my iPhone, as I am saving up for a "real" camera.)

This is a wide shot. Thank goodness for that beautiful cubby unit my sister is letting me borrow. Ever inch of it is packed with supplies. The metal standing unit is actually a bathroom organizer that was no longer being used. I'm quite pleased with the way I was able to maximize that corner. (Side note: the banner was made for me by my maternal grandmother when I was born. I love it and hope to learn to sew so that I can make them for my own someday children.)

My bed. Notable mostly because I do a fair amount of crafting there. As you could tell from the previous photo, there's no desk or much space at all to spread out and create. So my bed gets used fairly often as a place to stamp and cut and paint.

This is my favorite feature of the room (aside from my closet with its built-in shelves). I don't know how aparent it is from the photo, but there are four drawers built into the wall that are 2-3 feet in height and five feet deep. I store all of my clothes in one drawer, and the rest is taken up by all my scrapbook paper, ribbon, chipboard, ink and other things I didn't have room to display.

The craft cubby up close. Don't look to closely, though, it's not nearly as organized as I'd like.

I bought this because I was running out of room. It holds all the paper and materials that I want easy access to. Plus my Stampin Up! stuff :)

This is very special to me. My sister, who is a sewer and incredibly creative, made me this tool organizer for my birthday last year. What's so special about it is that the pockets are made from one of my mother's favorite shirts. She passed away four years ago and my sister saved all her clothes with the hopes of one day making a quilt for each of the six of us.

So there it is, my modest but oh so special craft space.

Thanks for reading.
